Brunswick Germany

It is with 250,556 inhabitants1 the second city in the state of Lower Saxony (Germany) behind Hannover. Located north of the Harz mountain range on the navigable boundary of the Oker river, which connects with the North Sea through the Aller and Weser rivers. A powerful and influential center of commerce in the medieval period in Germany, Braunschweig was a member of the Hanseatic League from the thirteenth century to the seventeenth century, and the state capital of Brunswick until its abolition in 1946.
