Lumut Malaysia

Lumut is a city in Malaysia in the northern part of its western territory. It is located on the coast of the state of Perak, registering in 2007 a population of 31,880 inhabitants. It is 84 km from Ipoh, 12 from Sitiawan and is the gateway to Pangkor Island. This former fishing port is currently the headquarters of the Royal Navy of Malaysia. Since 1993 it is a shipyard of medium draft ships. In Malay lumut means moss, lichen, or seaweed.
