Santa Cruz do Douro is an old Portuguese parish in the municipality of Baião, with an area of 9.96 km² and 1,453 inhabitants (2011). Its population density was 145.9 inhab/km². It was extinguished in 2013, as part of a national administrative reform, having been added to the parish of São Tomé de Covelas, to form a new parish called União das Freguesias de Santa Cruz do Douro and São Tomé de Covelas of which it is headquartered. House of Tormes Located in this parish is the Queirosian "Casa de Tormes", described in the work A Cidade e as Serras and where the Eça de Queirós Foundation is currently installed.
