Über das Reiseziel: Heidelberg is located in South-eastern Germany along the Neckar River, in the region Rhein-Neckar in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Heidelberg is part of Germany's "Castle Road". Heidelberg is quite famous for the castle, of course, but has so much more to offer, like the stroll along the banks of River Neckar, or even a walk along the famous Philosophenweg, which stretches along the northern bank of Neckar. Strolling along the Neckar, enjoy the lush green gardens of the Neckarweisse, with their fountains and open spaces. The castle is a beautiful set of ruins located on a steep hill overlooking the old town and the Neckar River. From the castle there is the most magnificent view over the old town. The castle houses the German Pharmaceutical Museum which has pharmaceutical equipment from the 18th and 19th centuries. The charming, fairy-tale like old town has seen very little modern development. Strolling these ancient, narrow streets is like travelling back in time. Don't be in a hurry. Stop and look around. Browse in the shops, have a meal in one of the restaurants, and enjoy the atmosphere. In the old town we find the Kornmarkt, the city's primary market square lined with shops and cafes. The Alte Brücke or Karl-Theodor-Brücke connects the old town with the suburb of Neuenheim on the opposite shore of the Neckar. Romantic and picturesque, this pearl of the Neckar, far from being a museum-city, is now a lively university town with an intense, vibrant cultural life.

Über das Reiseziel: Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a German city in Bavaria, close to the Austrian border. Garmisch-Partenkirchen was founded by uniting the two towns of Garmisch and Partenkirchen by a decree of Adolf Hitler to bring the 1936 Winter Olympics to Germany. The International Olympic Committee was going to pass over Germany as the host, because there were not enough hotel rooms in the host town, so Hitler forced the unification of Garmisch and Partenkirchen to create a larger town, which would be more appealing to the IOC. Garmish-Partenkirchen is one of Germany's premier tourist ski towns and has offers tremendous hiking, skiing and biking opportunities. The Partnach River flows through the Partnachklamm gorge. After 700m the path chiseled in the rock end and you can continue your walk to one of the surrounding huts. Take time to walk down any street and you will be amazed at the paintings on the outside of the houses. If you go at the right time of year, you can enjoy the beautiful flowers trellising down the quaint balconies. During the winter, the slopes surrounding the city are amazing for skiers and tourists. During the summer months you can spend hours walking along the trails and enjoy the panoramic views. Außerfernbahn is a romantic train ride between Garmisch and Kempten through picturesque Alpine valleys and pretty villages. Neuschwanstein Castle in Fussen, also saw through this route.

Über das Reiseziel: Dresden is a baroque jewel set on the Elbe River. Dubbed the Florence of the North, the capital of Saxony, is a city full of monumental staircases, panoramic terraces and spacious squares decorated with statues of saints and monarchs bursting with solemnity. Virtually destroyed shortly before the fall of the Reich in 1945, the city has recovered sufficiently to become an animated and arty, not to mention beautiful, destination. The exquisite baroque palace Zwinger now contains half of Dresden’s museums. The most important are the Alte Meister Gallery, one of Europe’s oldest and best painting collections, and the Historisches Museum with a superb collection of ceremonial weapons. Not far from the Zwinger Palace, we find the Hofkirche, the Catholic Church, which allows an interesting comparison with the Prostestant Kreuzkirche, located on the Altmarkt area, the historic hub of Dresden. Strolling around the Neumarkt area, you will eventually find yourself in Frauenkirche at Noitmarkt Square. This round church is considered an outstanding example of Protestant sacred architecture, featuring one of the largest domes in Europe. The church was rebuilt after the reunification of Germany and is now a symbol of reconciliation. Dresden will mesmerize visitors with its beauty, the sheer abundance and grandeur of the city's cultural treasures are enough to take your breath away. And since Dresden also just happens to be set amidst a dazzling river landscape, the amazement will soon be accompanied by pure joy.

Über das Reiseziel: Kassel is the regional "capital" of North Hesse in Germany. Kassel has been first mentioned around 900 AD. Since then it has always been a provincial capital for the realms of North Hesse or Kur-Hesse. Kassel became a considerable industrial and scientific city as can still be seen in the Orangerie museum where loads of scientific kit from the enlightenment period is on show. Noticeably the first steam pot producing a fountain was constructed in Kassel by Papin and rumors have it that he left Kassel in his steam boat a few years before James Watt got his prototype into shape. Kassel was home to the famous Grimm Brothers who wrote a lot of the fairy tales Disney uses today. The house that they lived in was made into a museum with a lot of interesting artifacts. The most important sites to see in Kassel are: Herkules and Bergpark. Schloss with its old masterpieces of art. Orangerie and Karlsaue Documenta: The world’s biggest art exhibition Friedericianum museum Kassel Tourist Information City Tours available.
