It doesn’t contain the architectural treasures or grandiose monuments prevalent in other Portuguese towns, but it has an atmosphere of times gone by, contentment and traditions which continue to thrive, which make it a special place to visit. Along the seafront of Nazaré, people still dry their catch of fish in the sun and mend their boats alongside sunbathing holidaymakers. The Casa Museu do Pescador is a small museum dedicated to the fishing population of Nazaré.

Über das Reiseziel: Seit 1917 ist Fatima eine heilige Stadt. Die Jungfrau Maria soll drei Hirtenkindern erschienen sein. Die Marienerscheinungen verwandelten die Stadt in eines der größten Zentren der Marienverehrung in der Welt. Auf einer 1 km langen Esplanade, auf der die Jungfrau erschien, wurden zwei riesige Kirchen errichtet, die Basilika von Fatima und die Igreja da Santissima Trinidade mit einer Kapazität von 9000 Pilgern. Jedes Jahr kommen Menschen aller Nationalitäten und Glaubensrichtungen hierher, um ihren Glauben zu beweisen und um Wunder zu bitten.
