san diego, california
Day 1
san diego, california
Departure: 17:00
San Diego, California, is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the United States and, arguably, one of the most beautiful. The whitewashed stucco buildings give a Mediterranean-style flavour to the architecture while the culture has a decidedly Mexican influence to it. Despite this foreign-country look and feel, the city of San Diego is uniquely American and a truly memorable place to visit. Mission Beach, one of the city’s most iconic spots, is perfect for surfing and relaxation. Balboa Park is one of the greatest urban parks of the world. With museums and gardens inside the park, you can spend days there. The grand houses of the Coronado district exude luxury and ate an historic national landmark. San Diego’s Old Town recreates traditional life from the past. Many fascinating buildings and artefacts bring the history alive in this area of the city. Everywhere there are blossoming flowers and spouting fountains and the magnificence of this colourful garden city makes it easy to forget the arid terrain of the nearby desert. With its many attractions and close proximity to Mexico, San Diego is an unforgettable city that's a very special kind of tourist metropolis.

avalon, california, usa
Arrival: 07:00 - Departure: 17:00
Santa Catalina Island is a rocky island off the coast of Southern California in the Gulf of Santa Catalina. The island name is often shortened to Catalina Island or just Catalina. The highest point on the island is Mount Orizaba (2,097 ft or 639 m). Santa Catalina is part of the Channel Islands of California archipelago and lies within Los Angeles County. Catalina Island is the easternmost of the Channel Islands. Catalina is the starting point for the Catalina Channel swim, the second jewel in the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming, along with the English Channel, and Manhattan Island. In 1927, a 17-year-old Canadian swimmer, George Young, became the first person to complete a crossing from Catalina Island to the mainland of California in a time of 15:44.30. Since then, over 500 men and women have completed the 20.1 mile swim from Doctor's Cove on Catalina to the mainland near Point Vicente Lighthouse and Rancho Palos Verdes. Since Catalina Island was never connected to mainland California, it was originally lacking in all terrestrial life. Any plants or animals that arrived on the island had to make their way across miles of open ocean. The original species to come to the island arrived by chance by blowing over on the wind, drifting or swimming over the ocean, or flown over by wing. Starting with the Native Americans and continuing today, animals and plants have also been introduced by humans, both intentionally or accidentally. Catalina is home to at least fifty endemic species and subspecies that occur naturally on the island and nowhere else in the world.[30] This limited distribution of a species may result from the extinction of the original population on the mainland combined with its continued survival on the island where there may be fewer threats to its continued existence.

Arrival: 08:00 - Departure: 16:00
Portland is a city located in the state of Oregon, near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers. Portland is Oregon's most populous city, and the third most populous city in the Pacific Northwest region, after Seattle and Vancouver. Downtown Portland has a well-planned, thriving urban centre with many great restaurants, wide pedestrian areas and entertainment options. Nearby, the historic renaissance style City Hall stands. The four-story building is home of the Portland city government. All over town there are many museums perfect for family entertainment. Situated on a hill overlooking Portland we find the stunning Japanese Garden. This magnificently landscaped garden is considered one of the best Japanese gardens outside of Japan. It’s hard to miss the majestic Mount Hood when you're in Portland. Oregon's highest mountain offers plenty of outdoor activities year-round. Dubbed “The City of Roses", Portland is a laid-back city with a small town feel to it. But don’t worry, the food, beer, wine and spirits scene is the best on the West Coast and the city has gained a reputation as the Beer and Food Cart Capital of the World.

Day 7
victoria, british columbia
Arrival: 08:00 - Departure: 21:00
Victoria is blessed with a pretty waterfront location at the southern tip of nature-endowed Vancouver Island. It has retained its Commonwealth roots perhaps more strongly than any place in Canada. Many consider it the most British city in North America. Founded in 1843 as a Hudson Bay Trading Post, its colonial past has been well-preserved and is in a state of constant loving restoration. But aside its glorious colonial past, Victoria is also proud of its ancient roots. Victoria is still today the home of the Lekwungen People who are also known as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations. Their culture and history are still very much a part of the city. Victoria’s historic downtown is a model for maintaining architectural integrity while keeping everything squeaky clean. Add to this, numerous dining, nightlife, cultural, and shopping opportunities not to mention that it is the warmest place in all Canada, full of flowers almost all year round. That is the reason it is considered the jewel of Canada's west coast and dubbed the city of gardens. Victoria is a charming little city with a joyful and laid-back atmosphere surrounded by amazingly beautiful scenery. It is no wonder tourists flock to Victoria and generally rave about it.
